How to download and use the desktop application for PC and Mac.

Setup

  1. Download and install the Webex Teams software.

  2. Start Webex Teams and enter the email address of the employee you want to log in with. You can find the access data in your customer account (see screenshots).

  3. Click Sign In.

  4. Now enter the password that is displayed to you in the employee in the Placetel interface.
    Do not use the password that you use to log into the web interface with the Placetel employee!

  5. Accept the note about emergency calls.

You can find the access data for every user by going to user. Then click on the user to see the login informtion. Here you can also download the client.

Here you also find your webex username and password in your Placetel customer account.

Clicking on the Download Webex Teams Button will lead you to the Webex download portal.

Use

General use of the client

You can find detailed information on the general functions of the Webex Teams client here.

Start a call

You can start voice calls to other Placetel extensions or to the public telephone network as follows:

  1. Click the ๐Ÿ“ž tab

  2. If not already open, click on the keyboard icon

  3. Enter the phone number you want to call and click the green handset icon. You can also select here under Workplace whether you want to start the call on your desk phone, provided you have set this up with Placetel.

Disruptions & limitations

Telephony disturbed

If you receive an error message in the client that calls are not possible, please check whether the SSO (single sign-on) is active for telephony functions. You can recognize a malfunction by a yellow symbol on the telephone receiver.

  1. Click the yellow phone icon with an exclamation mark.

  2. Click on Renew.

  3. The connection to the telephone system is restored.

Contacts

The contacts in the Webex customer account are only the employees in your local customer account. No LDAP contacts from the global phone book or Outlook contacts are synchronized. You can manually create contacts in the client.

BLF status

You cannot currently display the BLF status of a user in the client.
