Personal phone number

General

  • The personal number is an externally accessible number from your number block that is permanently assigned to an employee.

  • An employee who is supposed to make a phone call must have a personal phone number, otherwise it cannot be created.

  • Personal numbers are always routed to the VoIP destination of the respective employee.

  • The number rings both on the soft clients and on the employee's desk phones.

  • A personal phone number is unique and can only be assigned to one employee at a time.

  • When making calls to the public telephone network (mobile and landline networks), the outgoing phone number can differ from the personal phone number. You cannot influence the number display for internal calls.

  • You cannot specify an IVR, a routing plan, a time control or a group call or similar as the destination.

  • If you would like to use our well-known Placetel routing (routing plans, IVR, group calls ...) you have to activate additional phone numbers and set them up as usual. You can then have several employees ring the bell at the same time or sequentially.


Set up number

Initially, you specify the personal phone number when you create the employee. If a personal number is still missing, follow the next section.

Correct the missing number

Employee: Personal number is missing

If you change a phone number from the personal phone number type to another type, e.g. fax number, the employee loses this personal phone number. He can then no longer make calls under certain conditions. You should therefore assign him a new number as soon as possible.

  1. Select PBX → Phone Number

  2. Search for a new, unconfigured number, click on the arrow next to the pencil symbol and select Setup as Personal Number in the menu.

  3. Select the employee from the drop-down menu.

  4. Click Save.


Change number

You can change an employee's personal phone number. To do this, you must first convert the existing number, e.g. to the type forwarding, and then configure a new number as a personal number.

  1. Select PBX → Phone Number

  2. Find the personal number, click on the arrow next to the pencil symbol and select Set up as forwarding in the menu.

  3. Click on "Save".

  4. Search for a new, unconfigured number, click on the arrow next to the pencil symbol and select Setup as Personal Number in the menu.

  5. In the dropdown menu, select the employee whose number you previously removed.

  6. Click on "Save".
